FAQs

Together, we will discuss what issues you are coming in with. Our past influences our present and our future. Therapy provides a safe, confidential space to process feelings, discuss thoughts, commit to your well-being, and have a supportive therapist with you every step of the way. We believe that everyone can benefit from therapy, as we all have areas of growth to explore. Therapy has changed so many lives in the past, and we are confident that it can change yours for the better too.

Yes, your confidentiality is of utmost importance to me and is protected by ethical guidelines and HIPAA. Having a therapist that you trust and feel safe with is one of the key indicators of successful therapy, so we want to provide that space for you. There are times in which we are legally obligated to report what has been shared with me due to safety concerns, but we will discuss these exceptions together at our intake session.

Some people come to therapy every week for years and some people come short term or at a frequency that is less than once a week. We encourage clients to think about what works best for them, but progress is made sooner with more frequent appointments. You are welcome to see us for as long as you would like, and when it is time to terminate, we will work together to make sure you feel comfortable with doing so, but we encourage clients to stay in therapy as long as they would like. Overall, we address this with clients on a case by case basis.
